OUR MISSION - GOAL

Living in a free country, we owe it to those who fought for our freedom, to continue to search for them and if at all possible, give them a proper burial for the country they so gallantly fought for!

OUR MISSION - PROVIDE HELP

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR INFORMATION CONCERNING A "
MISSING IN ACTION" INDIVIDUAL?

ARE YOU TRYING TO FIND A  "
MISSING IN ACTION" AIRMAN?

ARE YOU TRYING TO FIND A "
MISSING IN ACTION" SOLDER, NAVY OR MARINE?

The purpose of the miakia.org site is to help with your research by providing information and leads to guide you to the records and other people, both in the U.S.A. and around the world, who can and will  help. There are still tens of thousands of Missing in Action personnel and in some cases, the missing aircraft assigned to them.

Within this site, we will provide points of contact to lead you to the correct  associations, government offices, related web pages, unit reunion information, group oriented publications, and one-on-one help from the Battery Willis S. Cole Military Museum staff.

We have made it a part of our life to trace missing soldiers and airmen of World War II, who have been  been reported as Missing In Action in and over the countries of Western Europe, such as France, Belgium, Denmark, The Netherlands, Finland, Germany and other countries.

Through investigating and going to the right resources there are extensive archives with information  available for anybody who wants to inquire.  For example, when an aircraft is traced through extensive investigations the information can be handed over to the interested local historians of of various countries.

Though it is illegal in several European countries to directly search the earth for Missing In Action personnel, local historians have found such aircraft and convinced local authorities to permit recovery of the aircraft.  Almost every year one or more such aircraft are found and sometimes a recovery of the Missing In Action does happen.

In that case the country, that the Missing In Action remains belongs to, is contacted and normally they will send in an Official Recovery Team to recover the remains.   When identification is confirmed the relatives are informed and the remains are buried with full military honors.

OUR GOAL - REMEMBRANCE

To insure that all the Missing In Action personnel of the United States of all wars be
"SEARCHED" for today, as the special interest being given the
Missing In Action of Korea and Vietnam.

Using the all modern the methods now available, including global communication via the Internet and the growing interest of local historians to learn the full story of combat and aircraft deaths
in and around their cities, towns and villages of the world.
